David Kim

MIT Accounting

Welcome!

I am a 5th-year Ph.D. candidate in Accounting at MIT Sloan School of Management.

I will be on the 2024-2025 academic job market, with an expected graduation date of May 2025.

In my job market paper, I examine how mandatory disclosures can unintentionally inform criminals. To do so, I use the setting of cybersecurity, which has unique economic features and is becoming increasingly critical in our digital  economy, as evidenced by recent regulatory changes (SEC, AICPA).

My broader research interests lie in the economics of information in technology (e.g., cybersecurity, AI) and the asset management industry.
